This is a true story of a sweepress working on daily wages in the maternity ward of the Roshan Lal Charitable Hospitable. She kept hearing the word "Pregnant" from doctors and nurses. Her fellow sweepress were made permanent but she was kept on daily wages. One day she stormed into the office and shouted, "Other sweepresses, Shanti, Kanta and Kamala, have been made pregnant. I have been working for 6 months and no one has made me pregnant."
